Why do we need to maintain the filter element of the air filter?
Correct maintenance of the air filter element can ensure that the air filter element is not damaged by dust to the greatest extent, and correct maintenance can improve the service life and effect of the air filter element, so as to help users save time and money. There are two common problems during maintenance:
One is the over maintenance of the empty filter element. Because as the accumulation of dust, the filtering effect of the new empty filter element will gradually improve, do not be confused by the appearance of the dusty air filter element and carry out excessive maintenance, to know that the air filter element should be such. Through the clogging indicator on the air filter, the user can ensure the maximum filtration efficiency and the working life of the filter element.(See picture on next page)
The second is the improper maintenance of the empty filter element. The delicate engine is vulnerable to dust damage during maintenance. Therefore, engine damage is most likely to occur during improper maintenance.
Daily maintenance
Check to ensure that all connections between the air filter and the engine are sealed, either during daily inspection or during refueling. This includes all hose connections and the top cover of the empty filter. The dust valve is always kept straight down to facilitate dust removal. Any exceptions should be handled immediately.
Air Filter element Maintenance (1)
When do I need to clean and maintain the main filter element?
The outer filter element shall be cleaned every 6000-8000 km or when the blocking indicator signals (6.2kpa).In very dusty or dirty environment must shorten the cleaning interval. Simple visual inspection often leads to excessive maintenance of the filter element, so it cannot be used as a criterion.
Excessive maintenance of the filter element will not only increase the maintenance cost, time and material investment, but also more easily lead to dust pollution to the filter, including damage of the filter element caused by excessive maintenance, improper installation of the filter element and lower initial filtration efficiency.
1. Remove the top cover
2. Carefully remove the main filter element to avoid any dust falling into the empty filter shell
3. Tap the end cover of the filter element to shake the dust off
4. Clean the surface of the filter core from the inside to the outside along the oblique Angle with the compressed air with a pressure not greater than 0.5Mpa.
5. Check whether the inner and outer filter paper surface, liner and sealing ring of the filter element are damaged. Replace any broken parts found
6. Clean the inside of the air filter. Clean the inside of the air filter with a dry cloth wet with water. Visually inspect and make sure there is no dust inside before putting in the new filter element.
7. Reinstall the main filter element to ensure that the gasket is placed smoothly. If the gasket is not placed smoothly, it means that the sealing is not good and it will not protect the engine. Ensure that the filter element and gasket are properly installed and fastened
