Cummins diesel generator set maintenance and repair

1, Cummins diesel generator set “B” level maintenance projects (Cummins standard: Engine running 250 hours or standby machine 0.5-1 years to carry out maintenance projects)
A. Change the oil, add Cummins designated special oil.
B. Replace the engine cooling water and add the right some additives according to the standard.
C. Replace the diesel filter, oil filter (including oil and bypass) and water filters, and add anti-rust water scale DCA additive in the water tank.
D. Clean the air filter and check for any breakage of the filter element with loose holes, indentation or damage at the end seal, and replace the filter element if necessary.

2, Cummins diesel generator set “C” level maintenance projects (Cummins standard: engine running every 1500 hours of work or standby machine 1-2 years to carry out maintenance projects)
A. Check repeat Level B maintenance.
B. Clean the air filter, check the filter for piercing damage, end seals for looseness, sealing surface for any damage or other damage, replace the filter if necessary.
C. Clean the crankcase breather, check for damage to the rubber seal gasket, and replace the new gasket if necessary.
D. Check all drive belts for damage, looseness or slippage. If damaged, they should be replaced and adjusted to the specified range according to the standard requirements.
E. Check the rocker arm, rocker arm, check the parts for cracks or other damage.
F. Check the T-plate, check the platen guide loose or damaged.
G. Clean the valve plunger and the fuel plunger, check whether there is bending the plunger, check whether the top of the plunger seat is loose or damaged.

3, Cummins generator “D” level maintenance projects (Cummins standard: 4500 hours per engine or spare machine 3-4 years to carry out maintenance projects)
A. Check repeat B, C-level maintenance.
B. Disassemble, clean rocker room, all rocker and bushing.
C. Remove all cylinder heads, check intake and exhaust valves, T-plate, valve springs, valve lock clamps, etc., if necessary, to be replaced.
D. Clean the valve and nozzle ram to check for bending or damage.
E. Disassemble and clean the nozzle assembly, if the coke and smoke more work black, should be adjusted.
F. Clean and inspect the PT fuel pump assembly and actuator. If the wear exceeds the limit and the clearance is too large, it should be adjusted and replaced.
G. Check the oil supply circuit.
H. Repair the turbocharger.
I. Check the tension wheel and thermostat and so on.
J. Overhaul the engine water pump and replace the worn parts. If it can’t be repaired, replace it.
K. Adjust the valve clearance and nozzle stroke.
L. Check the fan belt, pump belt and charging generator belt, if damaged renewal, and adjust the tightness to the appropriate range.
M. No-load start to adjust the frequency and stability, so that it reaches the normal working condition.
